chris hughes 0 Posted February 24, 2008 Very moody. I like how the long exposure adds an element of mystery. Great composition too. Link to comment
lunarlight 0 Posted February 24, 2008 Beautiful image. I love the water texture from the long exposure, and the composition that places the various rocks like stepping stones out to the horizon. Link to comment
alpenglow 0 Posted February 24, 2008 As usual Kurt... amazing photo. The softness that comes from these long exposures is always so appealing, but you also have such a great eye for composition and light. Awesome. Mike Link to comment

aslavihervuori 0 Posted February 24, 2008 I am glad I saw this. Great scene, great composition and fine exposure. I guess you have dodged foreground. It makes it look little bit artificial, but not in bad way at all. It makes more contrast between sharp foreground and soft sea and sky. Very good, indeed. No ratings, since I do not them anymore. a s l a Link to comment
kurt2006 0 Posted February 24, 2008 Thank you very much for adding comments on this image. I really appreciate the encouragement because I haven't been out shooting very much lately and have begun to lose some of my "feel" for composition, let alone how to take the raw image to a point where I am happy with the result. Asla is correct about the dodging; I had to work with the FG as well as the sky once I performed the conversion to b/w. The rocks are quite orange here while the sea was quite aqua and whipped by very strong wind. I felt I had to work with the contrasts and did not want the round boulder to be lost. Thanks again for your comments, everyone. Link to comment

tony_quinlan1 0 Posted February 25, 2008 Kurt, this really is something else! ... the composition, the depth of detail, tonal range and just pure mood generated is outstanding. It is without question up there with the very best i have seen! Infact ... this whole series is outstanding! Link to comment
