tomb 0 Posted August 12, 2002 Shot this photo while I was waiting for the sunset, would like comments on it Link to comment
yvette 0 Posted August 12, 2002 I would have probably placed the bench more to the left or to the right in the frame. closer by might also work. Above all a nice scenery. Link to comment
yvette 0 Posted August 12, 2002 a closer look definately goes for a cropping-out of the part left of the bench. that creates more depth in your already picture... Link to comment
edgecurve 0 Posted August 12, 2002 I see a lonely bench with a big mean-looking sky. Nice photo. Link to comment
tomb 0 Posted August 13, 2002 lots of people have been telling me that this photo is too dark, i took more photos of this scene but i never caught the clouds as well as I did here ... is it possible to get filters that darken clouds + sky? or maybe a filter that is adjustable for darken (top/bottom) Link to comment
michelle_cox 0 Posted August 15, 2002 Sounds like you're asking about graduated neutral density filters. They restrict the light for part of the photo but not the rest. Link to comment
mike_sea 0 Posted August 15, 2002 Hi Huni, When I read the title i thought what a silly simple little title. After seeing the work, I love it. Even simoply "Bench" would work well given the simplicity of the shot. This shot could have very easily turned into an ordinary shot. this is an example of how a number of seemingly non related elements can work together. The blue strip of horizon and its placement is wonderful. Something to hang on your wall. I just hope you used Pro film for the shot. Mike Sea Link to comment
cakeller98 0 Posted August 26, 2002 How lonely is this... I wonder how much more lonely it would feel if the bench was in a corner of the image... maybe the left one so it's even further away... how lonely would that be. this is a nice image, a bit static, but nice. if you'd put the bench in the left and the sun over toward the right... maybe you'd get an interesting diagonal play ;) nice tho! sven_taeymans 0 Posted September 8, 2002 If you would like to have more detail in the bench I guess you will have to make a double exposure. 1 metered for the bench, and one metered for the sky, do it from a tripod (with a remote control cable), then mix the 2 pictures in a picture editing program. But to me the contour of the bench speaks for itself :) guess I would have put the bench a little more to the left or right of the picture but I like it the way it is now anyway. Link to comment
