Burning Sky

petemillis

Hmmm, well, just done levels and saturation adjustment. Photograph taken with tilt lens to give both sharp raindrops on window and sharp sky.

I've put this in nature category, as it isn't really a landscape or

anything else.

All this recent talk of sunsets......well, I just had to dig out one

of my efforts. It didn't look too exciting to start off with, but

now, after some big saturation boost, some considerable curves

tweaking and a nice heap of sharpening...I think I'm onto something!

Any thoughts please. Composition I know is not very interesting as

there are no hills/buildings/sea in the foreground, but using the

lens I was using I couldn't fit the blue bit and the ground in the

same frame.

Cheers Gord - I agree, I should be banned....I think this is the only picture where I've only got one 3/3 - I've cocked up ;)))

There shouldn't be any 3/3s for this image. I think it's a great idea, wonderful capture, and seeing it through the glass and water drops gives it a depth and texture that I really like. Gotta say I haven't the slightest idea what Gord means by "Urbanned," but that and your comment about being banned make me quite curious.

You're not trying hard enough :) my last offering garnered two 3/3s within moments of upload.

David;

I was just being a smart-ass. Last week Pete started a thread about banning eclipse shots as a bit of a joke about another thread about banning sunsets. Within minutes someone fell for it and posted a long-winded lecture about Pete being inappropriate for suggesting a ban. Eventually the thread degenerated into a ban on pretty much all subject matter.

With those sliders hammered to the right this looks like sunset on Mars. I like the way the focus decomposes as it travels across the windscreen.

Pete, clearly you have an eye for the abstraction. Your shots are wonderful, particularly to me, because you see things in a way that I have struggled to express. You clearly go beyond the natural, the obvious and into the flow of color and shape, and I thank you.
