kietkopelli 0 Posted January 15, 2001 Where is the foreground and background? What are you trying to convey? Link to comment
scott 0 Posted February 14, 2001 This picture's beauty is in it's simplicity. Was the wind blowing, or is this stalk merely windblown? Link to comment
lyndon 0 Posted March 17, 2001 Why do photographers have to be conveying anything? I think this should be appreciated for its simpicity. I can't think of a foreground that would have done anything but detract from the subject. I think we get hung up on every shot having to fulfil an artistic or creative brief and forget that some shots don't have to convey anything except the subject itself. Link to comment
anish_malanthara 0 Posted March 21, 2001 I like the simplicity of the picture and the flowing lines. Link to comment
howie_wu 0 Posted April 5, 2001 This is what photography is all about. I like the artistic simplicity. You don't need any foreground or background in this picture, not everything has to fall into that steorotypical category! This picture is just perfect. Link to comment
john rabkin 0 Posted April 8, 2001 This photograph just made me stop and stare. Brilliant. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 6, 2001 It has taken several minutes for me to re-anchor myself in reality so that I may post a comment. When I SEE this, I FEEL the breeze, SMELL the hay, TASTE the grain, and HEAR meadowlarks and crows. This is the most sensuous photograph I believe I have ever seen. I pity the jaded Urbanites who cannot understand what a perfect image this is. (or even recognize the subject) Link to comment
steve_c 0 Posted May 10, 2001 Where is the foreground and background? What are you trying to convey? Yeah and why no pushed Velvia?? I agree with the above posters that the simplicity of this picture is its greatest asset. It brings to mind my days in the wheat and oat fields of Louisiana (ok they were test plots but they were big). I have admired Ricardo's work for some time now, and this is one of his finest. michael_goode1 0 Posted May 14, 2001 this is nice, but that the bottom is significantly lighter than the top is distracting to me. It is something that should have been corrected either in the darkroom or in photoshop. Link to comment
scama 0 Posted June 10, 2001 you have a nices tones but where is the subject?your photo is like a stone,is could, don't give me the pleasure to see him.sorry, but i am sure you can better than that.by by Link to comment
terrence_kent 0 Posted June 12, 2001 "And why no pushed velvia" made me laugh for quite a spell. Hahahhaahahhaahahha, ok i can stop now. As for the subject, i think its that wheaty-thing you see beginning in the lower left of the frame extending with its triumphant desires (describing the pliant wooing of a virgin corncob) towards the upper-right.~ Link to comment
ellery_chua___singapore 0 Posted June 13, 2001 Good work simple but with depth. There is action within the still thanks to the wavy leaf. Link to comment
herman_korowdein1 0 Posted June 15, 2001 Very courages and effective. Despite, or because of its simplicity does it demand attention. To have the subject on a horizontal instead of a vertical plane is the suprise. Link to comment
osman_gagavuz 0 Posted July 17, 2001 Simplicity is a good asset in photography and this photos prominent feature is simplicity but frankly, to me it is too simple... Link to comment
jeff_loomis 0 Posted August 7, 2001 I think this is just beautiful and perfectly executed. Those who ask "what is the subject?" can be discouraging, but obviously you are not making the image to please them. Link to comment
david_andrews2 0 Posted August 16, 2001 I offer two words to sum up my thoughts on this picture: Nice. Link to comment
