Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 21, 2008 I understand your concern that the person crossing the river would be lost in the trees but in my opinion the whole picture is strong enough without drawing undue attention to the solitary crosser. Perhaps if you didn't desaturate the rest of the picture to such an almost monotone degree, it wouldn't feel like a PS manipulation. Link to comment
vdhamer 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Interesting. What if the hiker hadn't been wearing red? Link to comment
sakke 0 Posted February 22, 2008 Thanks for your comments, both of you. I have not skewed the colors at all. The weather was very monotonic. My son happened to wear red. This reminds me of a classic `red in the golden cut? strategy back in 70?s. I think the picture is better with a person on the bridge than without. I like my red coat ;-) Sakke Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 22, 2008 You're kidding! You haven't adjusted the color at all? Then I take back my comment on the red sweater; it just seems so strange that it is virtually the only spot of color in the picture. But I've taken pictures like that, so I know it's possible. sakke 0 Posted February 24, 2008 Jack, just for reference, here is the original shot, downsized. It was the time for the first snow. That is a very pictoresque time.. BR, Sakke Link to comment
vdhamer 0 Posted February 28, 2008 Finland is so sparesly inhabited that they probably turn off the color to save power when nobody is there. Link to comment
