thomasmckown 0 Posted February 19, 2008 Wow, that is an awesome rainbow! Ways to improve? After a bit of thinking and analyzing, this is what I have come up with... Technically: It could maybe use a bit of noise reduction in the sky. Since there is no real detail here, there is no detail to be lost when smoothing it out. (Which is my usual beef with noise reduction...) Just be sure not to do any noise reduction on areas of detail like the tree branches. Other than that, everything looks good. Well exposed, and vivid colors.Artistically: This is where there is usually more room for debate... IMHO, I would like to have seen something of more interest in the foreground. Maybe more trees, or one interesting tree. Just something to compliment the rainbow. I realize many times this isnt possible due to a poor scene. If thats the case, I think you still made an excellent capture. Thanks for the post, I enjoyed viewing! Link to comment
jeff smith 0 Posted February 19, 2008 Thank you very much for your critique.. its rare i get one The rainbow was only there for a few minutes, if that even. not to mention it was raining and i had to make sure the lens did not get wet. This was taken from my driveway, which really isnt that interesting, and the most interesting thing i saw was the tree across the street. This was a quick shot! Thanks for your advice, ill make sure to remember it next time.. Link to comment
