Torso

f2, I think. The film used was either T-Max 400 or Tri-x Pan 400. Crappy scan was done at a drugstore.

This is from my first nude photo shoot with a model (read:

cooperative friend). Any constructive criticism is appreciated.

Thanks, Laura

Wish I had a co-operative friend like yours, I have to beg my pals.

Like the mood you have here although the cross stripes should extend up the whole visible torso.

The right hand side of the leg is 'burning out' too much, try to add a little more diffusion, say through a white sheet or some netting.

keep posting your stuff.

The dramatic lighting helps to take it away from being a routine "glamour" shot and concentrate on the aesthetics of the form, but sunlight is SO harsh it's difficult to control the exposure and you wind up getting areas badly over-exposed. I'd suggest experimenting with a simple artificial light (eg 500W builders' light) like I used in my "First nudes" series. ... Jonathan

Just go with the contrast, but place the patterns where they make sense. Also, I think this image needs only one focal point, around which your friends considerable form makes a lyric rhythm. To make these points more succinctly, I've taken the liberty of cropping your image, I hope you don't mind... t

Very nice. On my monitor it looks like the highlights can be toned down a bit but that bit of light around the belly button is perfect.
