Habitat 67 (Gum print)
Gum print. In this ancient technique, you mix Potassium Dichromate (an UV sensitive chemical) with Gum arabic and watercolour paint, brush it on watercolour paper, let it dry, then expose it as a contact print in the open shade for 20-30 minutes, then "develop" it in cold water for 15 more minutes. Contact printed from a 6x9 negative made with an antique camera. Three layers of gum. Uncropped. Uploaded August 8, 2002.
