bretsch 0 Posted February 16, 2008 To the mean eye all things are trivial, as certainly as to the jaundiced they are yellow.....Thank you in advance for your comments. Link to comment

mark_q 0 Posted February 16, 2008 I would love to see this as a wall filling fresco in some fashionable location. This one did find it's way to my soul instantly. My humble compliments. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted February 17, 2008 The subject is complimented by the lovely bg colours. The Yellow itself is striking. Link to comment

belenalvarez 0 Posted February 20, 2008 Todo un artista de la creatividad !! Unos colores (muy bien entonados) que se salen... Y el formato es la guinda !! Me gusta un montonazo. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted February 21, 2008 Great use of colour and texture. The narrow DOF turns the twine into an abstract. In some ways this reminds me of the feel I get from your 'Grand Canyon up close' image. If you flipped this 90 degrees clockwise it could be an abstract landscape. As usual Juan, a very creative eye at work here. Link to comment
bretsch 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Doug, Joseph, Cherlyn, Sheryl, Donn Armando. It's always a pleasure to read a comment like yours, I'm glad you like the picture. Markku, your comment has certainly lifted my spirit. I think yours is one of the nicest compliments a photo can have. Gordon my friend, when I think about creative photography your name always comes to mind, the fact that you recognize my work as creative is a double compliment. I thought about making it vertical but it didn't really convince me, still I want to turn that "Up Close" thing into a series, it still is a work in progress though. Once again, thank you all for taking the time to see and comment on this one. Link to comment
kaushikphotography 0 Posted February 22, 2008 Very original and I haven't seen before this type of composition. Very natural color effect. Link to comment
godfather 0 Posted March 1, 2008 I liked the colours too, these are the colours i would like to catch on my water pictures. The simplicity fashinates also, i was thinking what it is actually but i decided to leave it to be some sort of mystery cause i believe it works better this way. And about the colours again: No wonder you have these nice colours on this one because you have this kind of rich colours in every picture. That is something i should learn to do. Link to comment
djackson99 0 Posted March 27, 2008 I love the colors in the background on this and the composition is top-notch. The photographer in me wants to see more detail in the yellow. Maybe an abstract doesn't really need it . . . but my eye wants to see it. I noticed that you shot this with your 105mm. You didn't post any other shooting data so I am guessing that you are somewhere around f4. I would like to see this at f8 or f11 to get enough depth of field to cover the central subject. I think more detail in this element would help a great deal. As it is . . . I still like this image a lot. Link to comment
bretsch 0 Posted March 31, 2008 Kaushik - I appreciate your comment, a lot of work went into achieving the exact colors I wanted for this photo. Tero - I really appreciate you commenting on my color palette, you could say that I strive for very rich colors, sometimes pushing things a little to far; I'm glad that this hasn't been the case. Drew - You are quite right about the diaphragm, I as shooting hand held and couldn't go for something slower; this is definitely one of those times where I missed not having my tripod at hand. Cheers! Link to comment
