thadley 15 Posted March 31, 2008 A visually appealing image. I like the diagonal position of the wooden objects. The soft mist and colors just adds enough to tell you that it is fall and probably early in the morning. How could it be improved? Most of the mist I see is not usually blue so I suspect that the color balance of the image could be improved with a correction towards yellow (opposite of blue) and a tad more contrast. I will download it and see if I can do anything with it. Of course, if I do something which is more to my taste then it is entirely possible that you will not like it but at least you will see another perspective. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted March 31, 2008 I have changed it quite a bit re Photoshop levels and color balance command. Had a hard time neutralizing the mist color - not sure why. The attached is just another perspective which is quite different - there are no right or wrong images in photography. If you ever sell a photo, it is ultimately what the customer likes. If you hang it up on your wall then what you like is more important. Link to comment
httpwww.photos.netphot 0 Posted April 4, 2008 Thanks for your input, Tony. I like what you did with it, but I must say that the mist did have a bluish cast to it. It was early morning and quite foggy, and the colors were on the cool side of the spectrum overall. In your version, the mist is almost completely absent. I do like the increased contrast, although again, the scene was in reality softer and more muted. What you said rings true about photos (and any form of art really). Art is subjective and everyone has their own preference. I will say that although my version is closer to what the scene really looked like, your version pops more and would probably be more marketable commercially. Thanks for taking the time to comment, it's much appreciated. Regards, Joe Link to comment
