One of my favorite places. I normally don't include man made

features in my images, but I wanted to convey the feeling of

travelling through this wonderful place.

Such an inviting composition. the muted colors and interesting desert shapes against the broad background of snow-covered craigs is very intriguing. I always want to know where things are and was disappointed that you didn't identify it.

Thanks for the comment. This is the Alabama Hills near Lone Pine, CA. The mountains in the distance are the Sierra Nevada with Lone Pine Peak prominent in the center.

Must be the Alabama Hills. Incredibly sharp image but not at all oversharpened. I like the muted colors and the play between the warms and cools... in short, a great photo, Anish.

It might not have the colors you usually have, but It certainly very nice compositionally.

Great work Anish. The winding road is a favorite compo of mine, with the S curve giving the eyes a path into the scene. You have conveyed this landscape so well, rich earthy colors of the desert and pale blues of the distant snow laden Sierra Nevada. Great contrasting elements. I can see Whitney trying to hide behind the clouds. I feel that the immediate hills on the left are a shade too dark, while the near foreground sand on the right could be darkened a shade to give the road more separation. Just minor nits while I am taking a look. Really like your recent stuff from this region. Keep em coming.

Thank you all for the comments. Mark, other than RAW processing and a slight overall curves adjustment, I really didn't do much PS work here. This was a quick hand-held shot I grabbed while scouting for sunset locations (although it ended up being my favorite shot of the trip!). But I appreciate your observations and will definitely consider them if I make prints. Thanks again.
