ya_zhang 0 Posted March 7, 2010 It is wonderful picture of The Inn at Whittier. My wife and I spent one night in the hotel in June 2009. It really gives me a good memory from the photo. I like the contrast between the fog at left upper corner and the clarity of the building, which give me a sense of balance. It's very interesting for me to know how to take the photo? Did you take the picture from the air? Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted March 7, 2010 Please see my Feb 14 2008 comment - "from a cruise boat deck". Really appreciate the visit. Link to comment
james_riga 0 Posted October 18, 2011 I keep coming back to this photo because there is something so very appealing to the senses in it .... and I cannot quite explain it. It resembles something out of a familiar past, yet so very unfamiliar. Perhaps you can better explain it than I can.It seems to loom large in a distant memory from the past, a memory that evokes simplicity, far-off romance, peace and harmony, a perfect setting for a care-free life. Congratulations on being able to stimulate a truly emotional response on the viewer's consciousness or sub-consciousness. Another photo deserving of a 7, if not for the awakening of an emotional response alone!Another photo for my wall-of-memories! Well done, Tony. Link to comment

tonyazzopardi 0 Posted January 27, 2013 The lighting in this image is fabulous Tony, and helps create a very moody picture. The strong composition really helps too. Well done. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted January 31, 2013 Tony - thanks. I did not think anyone would be looking at this old image. All the very best and I suppose you are still doing some concert photography. Link to comment
Christal1664882414 0 Posted March 16, 2013 Just back for another visit. I've remembered this image as being exceptional, and I wanted to 'borrow' your ideas. I see that you shot this from the ship. This summer we'll be going to Alaska for the 2nd time (and I don't even have any images loaded from my first Alaska trip). We'll also be cruising from Vancouver to Whittier, and we will have early departure, so hopefully I can get a good shot of the quintessentially Alaskan village. A friend of ours who lives in Anchorage tells us "The weather is always shittier in Whittier". I believe it......when we traveled through the tunnel we met very unpleasant weather when we were there. frank_sines 0 Posted September 18, 2013 Really like the high contrast between the classic structure and the fog obscured boats. Excellent. FS Link to comment
