peter_heyes 0 Posted February 20, 2008 I love how you have decided to focus on the tree and roots, instead of looking at the larger scene. I haven't read the comments above, but did you use flash to fill in the roots? My only crit is I think the camera could have been lifted a little to lose some of the foreground water (I think it takes up too much of the frame), and the avoid clipping the tree in the background. Nevertheless, it's a shot I wish I had thought of taking myself. Pete Link to comment
dacamera 0 Posted February 20, 2008 Hi Pete, Thanks for dropping by. I didn't use flash, it's a blend of two copies of the same image processed about one stop apart. I have a 'thing' about underwater details so they just have to be included at any cost to the overall composition! All the best Simon Link to comment

dougie 0 Posted April 11, 2009 An extraordinary eye as well as great attention to the detail of the landscape you pass through, producing an image so many of us would have missed, I hope I don't start walking into things looking at my feet. Link to comment
ruth_christie 0 Posted May 20, 2009 Of dreams . . . ahhh such peace! - the colours, detail in foreground and satiny background so beautifully contrasted. Link to comment
boileau 0 Posted January 7, 2010 If I could complain, I would worry that the tree in the background is cut off. However, if I was shooting the photo, I'd be cursing the heavens for even putting it there (although it does help put things into scale...) I might even suggest a crop to just over the top of the mountain(?) in the top right of the frame as to enhance the singularity of the subject. None the less, this is a fantastic image, the texture of the moss and the submerged rocks in the foreground are my favorite parts, and the palette is nice as well. Link to comment
