lonebearimages 0 Posted February 11, 2008 This is fantastic! Beautiful composition, and terrific light. Your shutter speed is spot-on, as it still look like surf. Very nicely done, Will! Cheers! Chris Link to comment

davidclapp 0 Posted February 11, 2008 Nice shot Will, I would certainly easy back on the sharpening there cowboy! I gather this is an exposure blend? The left hand side water near the overhang is a little bit too bright, I would calm this area down and blend in a matching luminance. Good dynamics and colours. Link to comment
lalit 0 Posted February 12, 2008 Great shot Will. Some area seems slightly over sharpened, but still looks nice. Very enjoyable motion and very nice compositionally. What is that black stick on the cliff on the lift? (A stick? :-) That's a little bit nit detail, slightly distracting. Overall very fresh perspective and very enjoyable. Link to comment
will king 0 Posted February 12, 2008 Thanks all for the comments and feedback. The stick is just a dead branch sticking up. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted February 20, 2008 People write that this is "a very nice shot". It's not. It's three very nice shots put together. Now, Will, which one was the difficult part, shooting or the post process. The truth is shooting was easy as what. You metered one for the sky, one for the foreground, one for the sea (and had you been perfect, one for the cliffs). That was the easy part. Now if you used a HDR program for layering, even that was easy, but, I believe you, you did it manually, and that is the part I raise my hat for. But the crazy thing is, had you shot only one in P-mode, you'd still get most of this praise. You'd have the sun burnt thru and the details lost in the dark parts and yet it would get praise and 5/5, 6/6 and may be a 7/7. That is why sunset shots are so "easy". Because it is so easy to please with them. Link to comment
