A wonderful picture which deserves 7/7.Again,if I could suggest something,I would rather the background was slightly darker so that it could contrast better with the fair hair of this beautiful face.Regards!

Hi, Leanna! :) I don't mind the light background. The lighting here is well done, the "eye" of the feather is great, and the girl is beautiful. The only suggestion I would have on this one would be to have her use a bit less eye makeup...it seems a bit too heavy and dark for this shoot. Makes her eye seem very dark and somewhat smaller and draws my attention away.

Hey Leanna! I have to politely disagree with Leslie about the eye makeup. I think it helps draw the attention to her eyes and face because of her light hair and the light background. I'm not a big feather fan, but you obviously know what you're doing! Maybe if she had some of her hair slightly covering her left eye rather than the feather? I really think this is a beautiful portrait!

LOL! Hi, Jason! Politely disagree?? You crack me up :) Okay, I see what you're saying about it drawing attention to the eye...I agree about that, but then once you are looking at the eye, all you see is the makeup...it stands out more than the eye itself...does that make sense?? I also forgot to mention the heavy gold chain...it seems out of place to me. Then again, I've been sick this past week, so I may still be a bit fuzzy in the head! LOL ;-p

Look, I haven't been around here much lately, so I can't be too much of a smart alec. OK, Leslie? :) LOL I didn't even notice the gold chain, but I will agree with you on that. I still like the picture and wish I would have taken it and had a model like this to work with. Hope you feel better! Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures, Leanna!

Haha...now now, boys and girls...hehe.

Thanks for the comments. So now I must defend myself. haha. Just kidding.

I didnt hire a mua (make up artist) for this shoot. I just shot the model. The peacock feather was an after thought. The last set of the shoot. I decided Im going to do a peacock project...with each model Im going to give them a peacock feather/or feathers...and see what we get. Eventually I will set up a folder for the project.

I will show you pics soon of the original consept of the day...the make up was done for that part of the shoot...and was perfect for that consept. Unfortunately when I travel...I dont get to take the model someplace to change her appearance. Hopefully someday...I will have my studio and the models will come to me...instead of me having to drive for 2-4 hours...then I will have more control. I do see what you are saying about the chain. I will try to remember at my next shoot...to do the peacock project earlier and not at the last minute. Sooo much still to learn. :O) I appreciate you all helping me

get it right. :O) Hugs, Leanna

I am going to politely disagree with everyone... Just because I can! LOL!

Personally.. First Love the white on white of the background to hair... Gives an almost high key look to a mid key portrait.

Second, I also love the heavy eye make up... Look at the design of the "eye" on the feather, look how heavy the area around the eye or where the make up would be... To me, it is balanced and adds alot to the photo.

Now, the chain... Can't say I mind that too much either... Again, for the concept... Peacocks are flashy and showy... They got lots of bling, and well... Hey, what can I say, it adds to the theme IMHO.

The lighting is incredible, very soft and flattering.

Leanna, this is why I look up to your work.

Stunning!

I truly love it when we all disagree...it opens my eyes to so many different ideas and possibilities! I see valid points in each argument and that's great! :) At least we all agree on one thing...Leanna, you take great portraits and have beautiful models! LOL :)
