I think I like your new friend Phos, Ouzo and sausisson..this man knows his stuff, I wish I was invited at his parties.

The picture you took in black and white is really nice.

I see that in a 4 meter wide by 1.5 meter tall format in a plain frame on my living room wall. It would look spectacular. Honestly. My dream was to build a monastery cloister (cloitre) in the center of my house, an inner garden like Roman and Japanese did (well...smaller of course)..I have not given up yet. In the end, if it does not happen, I'll just buy your pictures Dennis (or steal'em and enlarg'em just for myself)

No one makes the interior of churches so interesting. Your love of the subject always shines through. This is a brilliant shot and your handling of the light is masterful.

Be careful when extending invitations. I may not go home. Or I may have to buy a home.... Deb and I are planning an anniversary trip. Initially, we thought of France, but decided to go to Florence instead. I was watching a special on Cezanne in Provence. Now, being a Francophile neophyte, I know little of the French countryside, but suspect I would be taken with it, as you and PJ are.

Congrats on your plans. I've only got some cheap port lying around. Barely worth drinking, let alone photographing, but I'll offer a toast nevertheless.

Now, about the photo. There are times when the color gray becomes a world unto itself. Look at how many shades you've captured here. Symphonic. I think of Frost's "two roads diverged in a yellow wood" and imagine not knowing where to wander. Then I imagine the walkways as two arms stretched out. An embrace. The photo is lovely, but to be there and to see it in person....

Jeff is right...I am looking at it and now i understand why i like it...the shades of gray on the floor and the ceiling. But Really, it's the light it conveys. This place feels fantastic. i've visited lots of cloitres but this one seems special, almost spectacular which is the contrary of what a cloitre should be. The HDR effect? Man you did a trick or what?. There is something hypnotizing but I cannot figure out what it is for sure, maybe the offset symmetry? Do you even know what it is you have done Dennis? The black magnet on the right versus the dark center columns does something. This picture has something that is not meant to be understood for mere mortals like us and I can't figure out what it is quite clearly (well, i am a mortal after all..time to realize that, right?)I want to go on with this shot on how much I like it but I will just say this...it grows on you, big time! You want to be there and stay there and you don't know why.
