Thanks for the kind comments guys. I was pleasantly surprised after my second visit to finally locate this Buddha head entwined in a Bodhi Tree. History tells us that Buddha was sitting under the Bodhi tree meditating when he achieved enlightenment.

Against a backdrop of temples that stood the test of time and the ravages of the weather, the Buddha Head temple has a most intriguing facet of nature intervowing with the partial statue of the Enlightened One - The Buddha. My take on a much photographed image in Ayutthaya.

Here, you can see another Bodhi tree, with roots seeking to spread over a wall of slate, and mostly exposed yet firmly entrenched, as if telling us a story of peace and stability against a world of uncertainties.

In festive occasion it is decorated reverently with a Buddhist robe slashed across its trunk and a yellow garland honoring its holy position, we can see these intricate tree roots that has grown around a Buddha head, only to leave alone and fully exposed the face of the most revered smiling Buddha statue who seemed to gaze upon every visitor, pronouncing His blessings and love and peace to everyone who is visiting the temple.

Lives have been reportedly changed for the good by those who have visited this place which is now a shrine of worship, and you will leave this shrine feeling blessed.

Alec, I like the composition here, the juxtaposition of monk's profile & that of the sculpture. Looks somewhat like those Epson printer ads showing all the hidden faces that other printers would miss. (yah, right :-} ) I particularly like the rendition of the man's skin. When I find myself in need of a visual treat your folder is only a click away. Thanks for continuing to post. Best, LM.
