alecee 0 Posted February 10, 2008 Thanks guys. From the angle you'll know that I had to shoot low to get the monk at eye level. So I did it by aiming the focus center weighted, clicking with one hand from the hip. I didn't want him to stare at the camera. After some tries I managed to get this. Only problem is the EV range is too wide to get an overall correct exposure so the sky turn out a bit harsh. In the midday sun I guess it cannot be helped. Link to comment

alecee 0 Posted February 12, 2008 Thanks guys, Alon, the Buddha head is actually a stone sculpture which was placed on the tree roots and was wrapped around the tree by nature through time. Link to comment
Emmanuel Enyinwa 0 Posted February 12, 2008 Lovely environmental portrait, as usual, Alec. Personally, I would have cropped the picture from the tree, as I find the white sky distracting. I seem to be the only one who thinks so, however. Wishing you the best, as always. Link to comment
vancouverphotographer 1 Posted February 12, 2008 Superior composition and great blend of colours. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted February 12, 2008 I thought of that too Enyinwa but decided against it as I wanted you guys too see the ruin as it is. Without the red stupa on the right it will look like a jungle setting. I'll add a bit of foliage to the tree. Link to comment
