lostinspace 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Sorry to bang on about this. If you did what I suggested and Google Earthed this then you will see what surrounds this remnant! It is literally a few acres of ancient yew woodland that would have literally covered thousands of square miles before "man" came along. Now look at it, a few poultry acres.....surrounded by a sea of arable land. What the f**k are we doing to this planet, surely we are at the tipping point now. There is no going back. With my 5d in hand I am witnessing the destruction of this beautiful globe as WE know it. All I hope is that when we have fucked ourselves over enough, the beautiful Gia will regenerate herself to her former glory. All to be restored.....without us being here, for we shall have long ago fucked ourselves over!!!!! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 9, 2008 I certainly agree with you, as part of the problem, I take extra care where ever I go shooting to leave no mark. Besides the logging and resource extraction, many of the forests in the pacific northwest states are weakened from pests and then are much more susceptible to burn. Which, like you said, enables renewal to start. My interest have always been to capture the beauty, because thats what I love, but maybe I ought to be documenting the destruction instead. Each one of these remaining trees is a shrine to the history of the natural world. Hang in there Hugh... Link to comment
lostinspace 0 Posted February 22, 2008 Thanks Zeph, I find it a real sore point, so please excuse my rantings. You are obviously like minded. Link to comment
