mike_sea 0 Posted February 5, 2008 Hi Janis, As this is a good shot I am going to be tough considering you put it in the fine art category. It pops out beautifully and has been technically a good shot throughout. However, for shots like this, the market tends to like total perfection as opposed to almost total perfection. Three points. 1. It is not totally symetrical because of the minor angle of your camera. This can be seen by the step at the bottom and also the straight line at the top of the "arch" against the frame. 2. The square motifs are also not symetrical. the bottom one on the left has been cropped - just a little compared to the one on the right which is in full frame and even has a gap. 3. Exposure on the door seems to go through extremes of over to underexposure. Very difficult to to considering the good job elsewhere whoever, maybe a good excuse for a touch of photo shopping. In the film days this would have been hand printed and dodged and burnt accordingly. Sorry to be so tough on what is a delightfully happy photo. i often wish others would be so honest Mike Sea Mike Sea Link to comment
