Not Here 93 Posted February 4, 2008 Excellent composition and scene. The shoreline leading into the subject trees works well. I would have been tempted to clone the one building on the horizon :-) Good shot! Link to comment
gdanmitchell 0 Posted February 4, 2008 Nice composition and scene. The title, "Desolate" doesn't seem quite right to me - the scene is cold and wintery but doesn't seem precisely desolate. Link to comment
mike de la haye 0 Posted February 6, 2008 Thank you all for taking the time to provide your comments they are appreciated. Michael You are correct, it would have been an easy task to remove the building. Diamantis It was easier to walk on the shoreline that day with the snow. I was fortunate enough to have a brief period of sun to help backlight the trees somewhat. Dan I would define desolute as an area that is deserted or uninhabited. The photo was taken in a large city of 2.5 million people. Any area without people in a city of this size to me is desolute. I guess my point would be that how we define our words, feeling and emotions about a photograph depends upon our personal experiences. You likely have a different emotion when viewing the photo than I do. I would be interested in hearing what you would have called the photo. Link to comment
