katzpjs 50 Posted January 30, 2008 The only doubt about this might be the vignetting at the top left and that could be corrected with software. This is a very lovely image! Also, you may want to straighten the horizon line. 8~)# Overall it is a great shot and is worthy of working on a bit more and keeping. Very Nice! Link to comment
jgalyon 0 Posted January 30, 2008 i hate to admit it Shawn... but looking back on it, i spent very little time or attention on this shot, so it's a wonder that the horizon isn't at a 45 degree angle! :) the dark area (upper left corner) is actually part of a fog bank ...but i knew that it would most likely be mistaken for vignetting (i know that is what i would think). i considered trying to PS it into oblivion...but that small bit of "purist" in me said... "that's the way it was...let it stay!". but...i admit i find it a bit distracting and at the least ... it adds nothing to the shot. i also considered offering an explanation for it, but then if you have to explain why something looks odd... well, you know where i'm going with that thought. thanks for offering the suggestions! samschnieders 1 Posted January 30, 2008 John, The lines of highlights lead my eye deeper and deeper into the photo - into pure serenity - wonderful photograph. Sam Link to comment

AirExpression Chung Lee 937 Posted January 30, 2008 This is a piece of eye-catching art work. Love the lighting and curve composition. It would be nicer if the trees on the right side is "trimmed off" a little (just my opinion). Great work. Link to comment

jgalyon 0 Posted January 31, 2008 again...thanks to all who have commented! the area pictured is part of the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge, where each year in early to mid-December approximately 20,000 Sandhill Cranes (and a few Whooping Cranes) do a stop-over on the migratory route southward to Florida. as well, there is a abundance of Bald Eagles that call the area home. the area is approx. 35 miles north of Chattanooga...should any of you have to chance to stop by!
