She looks a little scrunched over (her head seems to far below her shoulder line). Setting up a little bit more and including more of the subject would help.

The two subjects seem to be competing to me. There is just enough of the flowers for them to be distracting. Again, I think if you included more of the woman's body, the entire flower could be included and add a nice element to the image.

The image looks good- the subject seems comfortable and the exposure seems right on, possible a touch underexposed. Good work here, and I think with a few minor adjustments, the shot would be great.

Very Nice Photo Jenny! Your subject looks just like

Kay Bailey Hutchison - U.S. Senitor from Texas!

Hi,

the white flower drags my eye away from the lady a little. Nice soft hands and expression.

The likeness to that senator is pretty scary.

Nice sepia portrait.

Cheers

The contrast in this seems a little too low - but you shot using tmax400 which is by nature a low contrast film. Did you use a filter ? Green X0 or yellow would help a little to render the flesh a more pleasing tone - alternative you could rebalance the tones in PS if this was scanned from film.

Too tight on framing - I do not see any reason for parts of her hair to be cut off and part of her shoulder.

Suggestion may be it may be better to do without the flowers. The jewellery is not a good idea. Your sitteer looks ok not all the comfortable but not petrified - good point to start with.

There could be a lot that you can do to work this over - vignette mask, burn in this and that, rescan for eye detail if there .... list is endless subject to your personal direction.

Good trial print.

I like the idea of the flowers. Maybe she's in to tulips? I figure they must, in some way, be important to her. So if that's the case, it's a way to bring something in that tells something about her.

The pose... her chin-rest seems a bit forced or uncomfortable, a little like she's just holding it there so it's above the flowers. Also the bend at her wrist seems a bit precarious.

I think this might have worked a bit better if she had both of her hands overlapping each other, and her elbows on either side holding her up. You could also play off the implied shape that the tops of the flowers make.

Also, I'd like to see a little more of the left flower, so that all of them look deliberate.
