guido1 0 Posted February 28, 2001 i have been working on my portriats. To get them good enough to sell to the public via my own pro studio. Is the quality good enough? Link to comment
johannes_minkus 0 Posted February 28, 2001 Well, it looks like a picture done by a professional - kind of made up: The girl has been dressed, has been told to stand there and smile. Thats what this picture conveys to me. Technically I miss some depth - in th colors and in the light-modeling. I miss emotion. Link to comment
alex_medeiros 0 Posted March 1, 2001 This is a good effort, however, you still have a bit of work to do. The posing in general is good. The hands are a little awkward but there aren't any other distractions in the posing. The lighting needs a bit of help. This is especially true around the eyes. The look is soft. While this is not necessarily bad, it is more frequently used in tighter head shots. This may be more due to the scan than the actual picture. Keep experimenting, you are getting closer! tobin 0 Posted March 1, 2001 The composition looks, well, like a portrait, which is exactly what you've set out to do. However I think that perhaps the image could be improved with some more light on the girl's face; her face is very close to the color of the background and thus tends to blend in instead of stand out (although perhaps this is intentional?). kelvin_chao 0 Posted March 1, 2001 A fair effort. I agree with all of the above. As well, Kate could be further in front of the backdrop. This would further blur the backdrop some and minimize any shadows. How about highlighting her hair. Link to comment
kendra_mcmullin 0 Posted March 15, 2001 I am hardly and expert. If I had taken this photo, I would have been excited by the nice quality and direction of the lighting, composition, etc. But it looks very "typical" (remove this child, insert next child), very Sears portrait studio. Someone could get this portrait ANYWHERE. Find a style unique to yourself. Link to comment
