bradkim 8 Posted August 6, 2002 Emil, I am fascinated by this image. You have done a wonderful job, and I envy your talent. Link to comment
paul_boghita 0 Posted September 1, 2002 it looks so ...ethereal...it's difficult to believe it's a photograph. Very beautiful and very powerful image. Link to comment
scott_blair1 0 Posted September 2, 2002 Some might classify this as a nude; I consider it a magnificent portrait. Link to comment
squirrelman 0 Posted November 29, 2002 Has the feel and look of an oil painting by one of the great master portrait painters. The pose and expression also match very well with the hand positioning. Would love to see the original print. Link to comment
zachary_hamm 0 Posted December 24, 2002 beautiful image yes, and beautiful girl, but what exactly is original about this shot? Link to comment
over exposure 0 Posted March 15, 2003 the strenght of this photo? the simple approach to it, the fact that you are friends probably helped too....great work! Link to comment
mg 0 Posted March 21, 2003 Beautiful ! And it's the 1st time I see a non-lightpainted portrait from you. I would be interested to know what lighting you used for this, and what made you decide the face was to be brighter than the body... It's unusual and very interesting. Best regards. Link to comment
bacsa 0 Posted March 26, 2003 very straight portrait, indeed:) i think this is the photo that i like most from your photo.net gallery.Sorry, can't say anything constructive:o) Link to comment
s_ren_nielsen 0 Posted May 7, 2003 The edges are almost too sharp for such a soft and warm photo. I can't get that face out of my head and I can't determine how to interpret her expression. I keep thinking about what she is feeling. Fabulous. Link to comment
chas._buffamanti 0 Posted June 3, 2003 without the jewlery, this might have been very good;but with the hanging baubles from her neck, she looks cheap and whorish. Link to comment
schildt fine art photograp 0 Posted June 3, 2003 well - that says a lot about you - doesn't it.. Link to comment
k._s._lovington 0 Posted June 4, 2003 I know my own personal foot-in-mouth filter is generally set on low, but that comment takes the cake. It was a cut at both the photographer, and his friend. I think your personal view on "whorish" women has tainted your view on beautiful women sans clothing. grow up. ps. this photo is fantastic. i love the slight gradation on the background and how her hair looks against it. the pose is unusual, but it works because of her gaze. cheers Link to comment
andrew_binder 0 Posted June 6, 2003 Well, I have to say; Emil's retort is perfect. Hard to believe anyone would say something as ignorant and backward as what Chas said there, in this day and age. Anyway, I get quite the opposite feeling from this than Mr. Buffamanti. Great portrait. Great tonal quality. This has a very soft, gentle, vulnerable feel to it, in my opinion. Very nice. michaelk 0 Posted December 12, 2003 Your photo captures the depth of her soul and when I look at this it's as if she needs to be imbraced. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 4, 2004 the eyes are captivating, the hand positioning, the lighting, all perfect. How did you light this shot may I ask? Link to comment
jeremy_lanig1 0 Posted January 15, 2005 I agree that the colors and softness of the image make it very attractive, but I will also say that two things bug me. First, yes, I would prefer no necklaces. I wouldn't say anything about a whore, but it takes away from the simplicity of the image that everyone has been raving about. Second, her slanted shoulders bug me for some reason. I think a slant would be okay, but not to the extreme that it is. I also feel like the her left breast is distorted and unnatural. So maybe that's two and a half. A great image though.
