peter crosstone 0 Posted January 25, 2008 Hi, thanks for taking the time to look at my lighthouse photo. I arrived here just in time to set up for this shot. A nice local lady from Gloucester helped me find this lighthouse, standing guard over the Atlantic Coast. All comments welcome! Link to comment

georges_walker 96 Posted January 25, 2008 You were lucky that the nice local lady from Gloucester took you to that place, are you considering to give her a print of this image? Could be a nice gesture. Link to comment
peter crosstone 0 Posted January 25, 2008 Jorge, that is a good idea, i would make her a print, but she vanished as soon as she was there, she was just gone. Thank you all for the comments! Link to comment
dorcas 0 Posted January 25, 2008 The soft colours on the rocks are exquisite - I could be from Gloucester ;)Dorcas Link to comment

peter crosstone 0 Posted January 27, 2008 Hello M Barbu, Regarding the technique, Mother Nature painted a beautiful picture using a technique perfected over the centuries. I was lucky enough to be there. I used a polarizing filter. Using a wide angle lens I was unable to capture the whole scene in one shot. If I backed up any more I would be in the water. So I stitched two photos together right about where the first A in Annisquam is in the picture. I wanted the sun in my picture! I dodged and burned in photoshop to bring out the contrast in the rocks. Finally, when I did the final crop, I pulled the perspective in on the top right as the lighthouse was leaning outwards, to straighten her out. This is a place worth visiting if anyone ever finds their way to Rockport, Massachusetts. Cynthia, in your quest to photograph lighthouses, I believe there are six more within half an hour of this one. Regards, and thanks for the comments. Link to comment

davud_favazza 0 Posted August 25, 2008 That is one of the most beautiful photos of Annisquam Light I've ever seen! However, I noticed that the location is incorrectly stated as Rockport. The lightouse is actually in Gloucester (Annisquam is part of Gloucester). I'm originally from Gloucester, just down the street from the Lighthouse. Link to comment
