gnashings 5 Posted January 23, 2008 This would have been a nice capture if it wasn't for the hamfisted "post-processing" and artificial looking gimmicks. Link to comment
tony c 0 Posted January 24, 2008 Thank you for your insightful comment Peter. Having looked at your enormous portfolio and all your up to date contributions I can see that you are massively qualified to critique the photographs of others ? shot yourself in the foot again! Link to comment
airismeri 0 Posted January 24, 2008 There's many exellent points in this photo, only this glow doesn't work around this beauty. But I like this compo. Link to comment
alex_kew 0 Posted January 24, 2008 Nice capture, though the halo does spoil the overall image. Try to avoid 'clarify' (as it's called in PSP) when the bg is a near uniform shade, and stick to levels or curves to adjust contrast. Cheers, Alex Link to comment
tony c 0 Posted January 26, 2008 Thanks Alex - useful tip. I know I went "Too far" with the Gaussian Blur on the conrast mask with this one, but I did it intentionally. I know it's not realistic, but decided it made the image "Better" - oh well :) Link to comment
shacknav 0 Posted January 27, 2008 Too heavy on the post-processing - would like to have seen a post of the original or minimally tweaked image. Perhaps you would get better results if you selected out the main image and restricted your processing to the subject and left the b/g natural. Regards.......Pat. Link to comment
