ryourth 0 Posted January 19, 2008 Always enjoy a good B&W & this is an excellent composition.Like the way the darker tones in the foreground gradually fade into the backgroung & keeping the eyes focussed on the foreground. Like the perspective & am curious what camera & lens you used to capture the scene. Regards-Ross Link to comment
bnyc 63 Posted January 19, 2008 That's a really nice landscape. The composition is wonderful and the exposure is just perfect. I read in your bio that you use a point-and-shoot; this and your other landscapes show once again that it's definitely about the photographer, not the gear. Keep 'em coming! Link to comment
httpwww.photos.netphot 0 Posted January 19, 2008 Thanks everone for your positive comments. Ross, to answer your question, I was using my friends Fuji p&s, as I didn't have my own camera at the time. I currently use a Fuji F30 which is a great little camera that performs very well in low light situations. Right now money's a little tight, so I don't have extra funds for toys. Hopefully I can upgrade to a DSLR by year's end (I'm leaning toward a Canon 40D) and take it to the next level. In the meantime I will have to keep working with what I have, and will try to create the best photos I can under the circumstances. As you mentioned Peter, it's not just about the equipment. Creativity and inspiration can go a long way! Link to comment
dacamera 0 Posted January 19, 2008 Fabulous scenery and a beautifully balanced image, the only niggle for me is the tree on the right, I am not sure if I want to see all of it or none of it! Simon Link to comment
httpwww.photos.netphot 0 Posted January 20, 2008 Thank you for the compliment, Simon. Concerning the niggling tree, I thought it helped balance the composition. It can easily be cropped out, I might try that and see if I like it better that way.As for the scenery, Washington state certainly has no shortage of fabulous!Regards, Joe Link to comment
