kdufresne 0 Posted January 14, 2008 I took this photo on my first (hopefully of many) visits to the Grand Canyon. The light was difficult, it was very hazy and overcast. Hope you like it. Link to comment
cphilpott 0 Posted January 14, 2008 very nice shot, don't apologize, just keep shooting. Yes, you had your hands full with the lighting but the foreground and the snow and rocks and trees is quite nice. Be proud. The more distant vistas might warm up some with some balancing in photoshop. Excellent. Link to comment

michael anderson 0 Posted January 14, 2008 Kevin, You seem to have a good eye for dramatic light judging from this image. The inclusion of the left side cliff gives this a nice three dimensional feel and the placement of the right tree over the sunlit back wall rocks adds even more depth. Good job with the exposure as well. You might try experimenting with graduated neutral density filters (which can be used with the G9) if you enjoy shooting these grand scenes. In this case, a GND filter could have been used on the top fifth of the photo to keep the cloud exposure more consistent with the foreground. Other than that, I'd say you're on the right track!
