John, very well done. I think you have captured the spirit of this place. While looking at the photo I can almost feel a cold breeze blowing through my hair.

I like the purple snow, which must be a Provia trait. I like it better than the blue snows of ektachrome. John, you must have been freezing, and wrapped from head to foot in Tasmanian wool. And where are your footprints in all these pristine winter snowscapes?

The shadow line was just seconds away from where I was, and at that time there was an intense red glow from the sun refracting through the atmosphere at such a low angle, which combined with the blue reflected from the sky to cast purplish light around.

Apart from the light and colours being very nice in this photo, what I really like is the contrast between the tranquility of the landscape in the left part of the photo and the "explosion-like" look of the plant in the right part, with all the lines going in all directions.
