The crop is too tight on the top of the trees. After seeing the other version, I can see that a looser top crop will expose the leaves of a foreground tree. I say go for it and air brush out the leaves.

Very fine mood in this one Ken. I like the top crop, a wider crop could take away too much attention from the lake and trees.

Your image is another example of the distinction between the uninspiring and maladroit digital mishmash images on photo.net that are tainting real photographic genius that we used to see here on photo.net. As I stated elsewhere your talent behind the lens is far more competent and inspirational than those that work synthetically behind a keyboard. Thanks for sharing. john orr

I am turning around in your folders and i think that this is the one i prefere because of the lines, shadows and colours. Good. Fabrizio

Very nice--colors, lines, reflections. Reminds me of a previous life (before children), early mornings, late evenings, playing golf on an empty course. This captures that!

I'd also like to echo Mr. Orr's comments above. Last week's POW is a prime example--and certainly nowhere near the worst--of where photo.net is going: a garishly well-executed photo, but without much soul. This is more about the essence of golf, or at least it's about mental and emotional space where I used to play.

Ken, haven't I commented on this picture before? It's so well done - majestic. I love the horizontal lines too which draw you through the picture.

I love the flow of this photo.. and that reflection is wonderful.. I am amased how clear and clean this is.. did you photoshop this at all ?

Just the usual 'clean-up' work - nothing exotic ................... The film and the time of day (sunrise) had a lot to do with the 'look' ....................... Thanks Jame.

Not sure why I haven't seen your images before? They're splendid! Especially love this one.. the composition et al is great but the best part is the way you handled those trees.. specifically their color and the softness. Looks like something out of an impressionistic painting.

Did notice one odd little thing though.. there's a "reflection" of the large red tree on the far left that appears partly in the grass. Almost looks like a PS clone oops. It doesn't look like it belongs there... looks like you may have cloned out some trees from the original and forgot to erase the reflections maybe? There's also the little yellow tip on the right side which doesn't have a tree to go with it!

Check the large version ....... I believe what you are seeing are the reeds growing out of the water ................ Thanks for stopping by ................. (-;
