This is a 30 x 40 that I plan to display at wedding shows and semi-

permanently in a relevant place.

Please tell me if you think the images have enough impact to make a

prospective bride/groom to want to hire me ($1,750 to $2,750). Please

contribute any other options that come to mind.

As a bride, I looked at a lot of photographers portfolios. I was willing to spend more provided there was a reason....such as MAGNIFICENT shots. We got married before I got serious about photography...I always had a good eye & liked original shots, but knew nothing about the technicalities behind it.

That being said, I probably wouldn't pick you based on the above photos. Not trying to be harsh, but trying to give you an objective opinion.

On the technical side...the photos are beautifully exposed (a real plus on this board!), although I personally don't like the couple at sunset. My reason for that...they look like they should be a silhouette, but there's more detail than that, yet not enough to see them clearly. In my opinion, they should be dropped down a stop to silhouette them or lit to see their faces.

On more the artistic side, this selection of photos doesn't make me go "WOW... what a great photographer". I assume this is what you're looking for. I do REALLY like the 2nd b&w one - the framing is great, the angle fantastic & you've captured a wonderful expression on the groom's face. The bottom photo, is a great informal portrait & obvisiouly they're having fun, but I don't look at it & think "I really like this, this is the photo I want taken & hang in my living room"

I hope you're not offended, just trying to give you a perspective from a previous bride & what I looked for in a photographer. When I chose our photographer, it was partly because of the price & what it included, but I remember seeing a fantastic shot of the bride's face framed by a decororative metal thing that was perhaps part of a porch or something, with a dreamy look on her face. It caught my eye & I wanted that kind of look.

I hope this helps. I would be curious to see more of your work. Oh yeah, I think most any bride loves outdoor photos. I would definitly include more of those.
