jon_mullen1 5 Posted January 10, 2008 Not so cryptic this time... devotion and dedication is obviously inherent...exquisite. Link to comment
alamosa 0 Posted January 10, 2008 I was struck by the contrast of the light on her face vs that on the flute. Even her face at the top appears as if it should reflect more. Great job of sharpening the light where is was needed, yet keeping the face soft. Link to comment

ernest-b 0 Posted January 23, 2010 I think this is a really, really excellent picture. One minor suggestion: if it were mine, I'd crop off the topmost portion, down to the lowest trace of the white headband (the top 22-23% or so, by crude estimation). Granted, the diagonal line of the headband mirrors nicely the diagonal line of the flute. But the visible hair and headband seem (to me) to be mostly a distraction, creating a secondary pull for the viewer's eye, and they dilute somewhat the central power of the image--which (to me) is concentrated between the lips, the flute, the downcast eyelids, and the surrounding all-black, negative space. (I also think the resulting horizontal format would be more powerful than the current "squarish" form.) But either way, this remains a brilliant image. Link to comment
