dinesh.godavarty 0 Posted January 7, 2008 This was a sunset caught on the chincoteague Island. Do the birds add to the composition? Link to comment
jusogi 0 Posted January 7, 2008 It's a beautiful shot. I absolutely love the bursts of rays from the setting sun. I'm not convinced the birds add to the shot. For me, it almost takes away from the brilliance of the sun. Link to comment
dinesh.godavarty 0 Posted January 7, 2008 Thanks Kim. I have another shot without the birds (the sun is lower in the horizon and much more visible). I shall upload that soon. Please take a look at that as well. Thanks again. Link to comment
murphymj4803 0 Posted January 7, 2008 I really like this photo. The setting sun and dock are beautiful however, the birds distract me some how. I spent a hot August night at the Maryland Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge having walked from the Virginia end to where camping is allowed on the Maryland end. Your terrific photo takes me back. Thanks, once again, a great shot. Link to comment
dinesh.godavarty 0 Posted January 7, 2008 Michael, That's a long walk! Must have been exhausting in August heat. Also, I shall upload a couple of more pics of this sunset without the birds. Please have a look at that if you get the chance. Thanks. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 7, 2008 I definitely think the birds do add to the composition. I like the way the sun shines on the water. The pier also adds to the compostion. Very pretty. Link to comment
murphymj4803 0 Posted January 8, 2008 A follow-up to my Assateague Island "Death March" as it would later be known as: I was dating a woman at that time who accompanied me on said trek along the beach in an all day and damn near all night epic march from Virginia to Maryland just to be allowed to pitch our tent for the night (no sleeping or camping was allowed on the VA side). We were carrying back packs, sleeping bags, and a 4 man tent along with many bottles of water and food. Common sense was definitely one thing in short supply. I remember it being so hot all I could do was sit in the tent barely able to breath the stiffly heat. It was BSB or "before sun block" so we were both sun burned beyond recognition! It was not anything I would ever do again that's for sure. I think the "Death March" was the end of that relationship too. We hardly spoke on the way back from Assateague Island to civilization i.e. DC. Thanks for jogging my memory of a very fiery walk along the Eastern shore with that red hot Virginia gal! Not Here 93 Posted January 10, 2008 Dinesh... Beautiful sunset and scene. I think I'll vote for this one, the birds add an interesting element to the overall theme. I realize there is no hard horizon, but do I detect a tilt to the left? Perhaps an illusion from the line of the opposite shore. Excellent, regardless... Mike Link to comment
dinesh.godavarty 0 Posted January 11, 2008 Thanks Michael for pointing the tilt. I do notice that there is a slight tilt. I guess I just overlooked it. Link to comment
