mg 0 Posted July 29, 2002 Far too blue - the color doesn't add anything here imo. Could be nice in B & W or with white snow in color mode. The composition is fine. The subject a bit ordinary, and lacks a real powerful treatment. Little lack of details as well. Best regards. Link to comment
jeff_clark 0 Posted July 30, 2002 I like it for it's simularity to a pinhole image. I think the top could be gotten rid of to give a more concentrated image and a bit of a tree on the far left, but compared to the "Boat On Water", and Yosimite images, I can't understand why anyone would have a hard time with this image by any means. benjaminparkerphotography 0 Posted July 31, 2002 This, like your other prints, has a great mood. Well done! Link to comment
Palouse 6 Posted July 31, 2002 COLD! I love it-the foreground and background (sky?) share the same tonality. The isolation of the stand of trees makes me feel alone. I like the fact that there is little to provide a sense of scale Link to comment
yves_jalbert 0 Posted August 1, 2002 Thanks for sharing, this is exactly how I remember some winter evenings in Quebec (although this was taken in Spain). It's just the same. Sometimes at the end of the day just before it gets dark, when there is no wind and no noise, the sky and your whole surroundings take this kind of blue shade. If you are alone in the woods it makes it very disorienting and yet very peaceful. All you hear is yourself breathing as there is usually no wind after these storms. You can't see far and you don't hear anything else. There is no horizon, no sky. Everything is this blue. Very special. Anyways, really good shot. I like the color and the trees. It's good you were able to capture it before people or animals left tracks in the snow. Yves. Link to comment
