Guest Guest Posted September 14, 2008 Ruud, I did a mannequin portfolio for my master's portfolio. I found the secret (or a least one secret) is to go to only the very most expensive shops. This is where you find the top quality mannequins. With the store's dramatic lighting you can make some pictures that look very much like humans. Of course, if your idea is to make the mannequins look "cheesy" than the lower class shops are your answer. Keep shooting and look for interesting lighting. Note: be careful of store security...you may want to get permission to shoot in the windows first. It is a good thing I had a photography school ID on me. They are worried about competitors stealing there window display ideas. (Like you couldn't sneak pictures with a small camera if you really wanted to) I was using a tripod (of course) and this made me a professional? Good Luck Mark Link to comment
