The scan quality does not do justice to the original slide...

 

This is the famous giant statue of Bhudda in Kamakura, Japan. There

are so many photos of it out there, and I wanted to try a different

look.

Could be the scan, but the statue looks out of focus. Compositionally, maybe you could have moved to the right, and caught the sun right behind the statue? The stuff on the left is distracting, I think. I like the idea.

Yeah, that antenna really sticks out. too bad.. I also agree that the composition can use a fine tuning by moving further to the right, in which case I would have had to sacrifice what little detail is left of the statue's face. (The face is more visible when the slide is projected) I'll try these things if I go back there!
