I love it when you look at something and get a instant visceral feeling of rightness. Hello----

This is such an instant. Beautiful colors, composition and execution. Love your portfolio and Thanks for sharing. By the way, I appreciate your looking and commenting on a recent photo of mine.

I was reviewing, enjoying your portfolio and trying to decide on which two images I would make remarks. I love the light, the dark framing which leads your eyes into the image. I also like the solitary fern balanced by a red leaf on the left. Then there is the diagonal trunk going contrary to all the vertical lines. Well done.

Thanks, Tony. Funny you should choose this one and the "Van Horn Basin" image for notice. I think those are probably my two personal favorites.

One thing PNet does well is to draw attention to other works of the members while you are commenting on another. I saw this while making my previous comment and had to check it out. Man, this is excellent. As Tony pointed out, the single fern really makes the image. My only suggestions for an already remarkable photograph are: Consider cloning or removing the orange leaf LL and the other brown one UR. Also possibly burn the section of light coming through at LR to darken and subdue it. Other than the specular highlights, that section is the brightest area of the image and pulls my eye in that direction. Very nice John!!

Yes, I can see your point about the LR highlight. I'm not sure what's on the original slide, but I imagine something other than full white can be brought out. As for the "corner leaves", well, I've always been kind of partial to them myself!

(How did I spell your name with a 'c'? I know better than that. Darn PN won't let me correct it, either!)
