bartimeus1 0 Posted December 29, 2007 This one really doesn`t lack drama! :-) The surreal light and the ghostly forest of the boat mast`s, effective to say the least! I like this one a lot! Alpo Link to comment
antoniobassiphotography 0 Posted January 2, 2008 Man, this is really good! At first it reminded me of a movie scene: have you seen Dracula by Coppola (the last one)? It reminds me of that scene at the beginning of the movie where they show all the people impaled... I would call this photo "Battlefield". Very nice, the smoke gives a "filter effect", almost like a sepia tone. Link to comment
laurent-paul 1 Posted January 3, 2008 Hi Antonio, thanks for the comment. Yes I know very well Coppola's Dracula, which is an amazing film, especially in term of photography : All the effects were done on set during photography, and there is almost no digital post-production. I'm very flatered by the comparison ! Link to comment

laurent-paul 1 Posted January 16, 2008 Yes, with my cybershot, on manual. I took about 20 shots of the fireworks only this one an perhaps a second one worth anything. But if only for this one, it makes me quite happy. Details : 2 minutes of gradings on this one : just a quick curve correction ( only the main RGB )a bit of sharpenning, and that's all. laurent-paul 1 Posted January 28, 2008 Thank you very much for your time and kind comments. Laurent, actually this one is the most interesting from this fireworks serie I've made, as it is mostly smoke, filling the whole frame, therefore giving an almost abstract picture because we loose a bit the sense of scale. lrenard 0 Posted January 28, 2008 yes, also a very tragic picture , even if you look at it up and down..i tryed (oooops my neck)...;_) perhaps this sensation is a little bit stronger if you cut the 1/3 of upper image and only get big part of grey area ? see what i mean? just a suggestion as it is allready very good...;-) Link to comment
laurent-paul 1 Posted January 28, 2008 Actually : Your suggestion was the first crop I did actually ! but then when printing, I realised, that something didn't quite work too well. I did quite a lot of cropping experiments on this one, always trying to get quite tight. This one is a little bit of a "mistake" to be honest, but then what I realised, is that keeping the black sky at the top, was in fact balancing the whole picture a bit better. Link to comment
