Nice find. Always exciting to find owls. This is pretty typical where they are hidden in shadow and with twigs in the way. Its a good record shot but doesn't stand out because of things beyond your control. The eyes are really important in an owl shot in my opinion and unfortunately it looks like it was napping. Sometimes you can try waiting it out or else you have to move on and hope for the best next time.

I agree with Barry, but also it appears the owl itself is out of focus also.

The pine branches in front of it are tack sharp, but with short DoF, you lose sharpness on the owl. Otherwise great find!
