I love it, dust and all. Frame it and hang it up! Some times the story told outways technical considerations. Nice pic.

Beautiful shot, nice candid! It really shows the puppy being a puppy - the paw close to the adult dog's eye shows the playfulness of the puppy, the tolerance of the adult, and the photo's candid nature.

i agree about the puppy's paw in the eye. that is what makes this picture special: that the mom loves the "kid" so much that they will just let them do that without being thwarted. it's a very human response, and i like it! about the dust: i have been having problems with my Minolta Dimage Scan Dual and dust. i have found it's very hard to get all the dust off... any suggestions?

It's a horrible scan: there is dust everywhere and the reds are all over the place - yuk :-6

BUT it is a great image, a wonderful moment captured!

SO please (!!) get the compressed air out, fix the color balance, and show us a better scan! Can't wait..............

very cute subject, but unfortunatly it lacks artistic quality in my opinion. Good point, the subject is not centered, but the background is too much visible (an f:2 or 2.8 aperture would have been nice) and the point of view is not very original.

I second that - that's what makes this picture!

There is only two ways:

1. buy a scanner with digital ICE - cost: big $$$

2. retouch in PhotoShop - cost: some time

It's either one or the other - or you can post an ugly scan and still make the frontpage on photo.net. This probably wouldn't work for POW though ;-)

It's certainly a pity about the dust but the shot is great - I know from experience how difficult it is to take shots of dogs, expecially where puppies are concerned and this shot has captured a lovely moment.

If the purists are refering to the black specks, they are part of the dalmations' coloring. If they are refering to the white specks, perhaps they are the prolific "giant white gnats (Gnatica Albinus Indium)" indiginous to this area of India. Nice picture; thanks for sharing with us.

Awesome shot. I do agree that the dust is a bother, but that can be fixed. HANG IT ON YOUR WALL. NICE JOB

I'm reminded of a Simon & Garfunkel line that goes ... "life, i love you - all is groovy". Great picture!

Love the shote - as for the dust, may I suggest compressed air in a can, sprayed over the neg gently just before scanning. I used to have the Minolta scanner you speak of, and was constantly doing battle against the dust, especially in the dryness of winter! Ugh. Love the shot.

I have just view your wonderful photo, please dont worry about the dust, it has the effect of lightly falling snow, and keep it as is, brill photo, 9/9, marc

Turn a great image into a great presented photo and clean up the dust. Snow? Schmo! I'd also crop in the right side a bit and get rid of the distracting white 'something' there. Great job capturing the moment.
