cliverapier 0 Posted December 24, 2007 not a lot wrong with it acctually. the use of space to the right of picture is good. the choice of what appears to be mild sepia is very good. the only point of concern is cropping (?) of the very top of his head maybe. maybe just a bit of over exposure on the top of the hand. its not always easy to ballance contrast somtimes but all in all, its a good effort. francoisspenard 0 Posted December 24, 2007 I'm not into male portrait, but this one really caught my eyes; it's so powerfull yet calm, it must be the eyes. Link to comment

cliverapier 0 Posted December 25, 2007 I had a re-think on my above post. I mentioned a point about contrast. I did some tests on this image using some software i have and concluded that the contrast and all other filters where at there optimum. In other words, ITS PERFECT. its therefore highly unlikley that the contrast for example could be improved given the direction of light. I hope all that makes sense. Cheers Link to comment
rpallagi 0 Posted December 25, 2007 Kinda understand.. I got the cheapest LG 22" wide monitor there is on the market, and I can not even calibrate it its so bad quality. So I cannot say for sure, that even after I did leves, color balance and shado/highlight, that this image looks the same on other monitors. I kinda hope, that even if its not the best quality image it makes people look, because of the photo itself, not only the post process. I still have soooo much to learn in studio work and prost processing. This photo is made after the 2nd day I used 3 flashes in studio. Hope after couple of years I will be less preoccupied with technical background, and spend more time on getting a powerful image. An image thats powerful enough to transmit a message to the viewer. actually 2 messages: As my coach would say: a message about the model, and a message about the photographer. merry xmas Roland Link to comment
cliverapier 0 Posted December 26, 2007 Interesting points of view there Roland. I am no expert in portraits or photography in general for that matter. But I tend to worry about the image and its contents and composition ahead of the technical stuff. I guess that?s the way I go about my photography as I teach myself without a coach. as for the 22 inch screen, you should get a computer guy in to calibrate and fix it up and it shouldnt cost too much. It might make life easier for you. CHEERS. Link to comment
