thadley 15 Posted August 29, 2009 It is somewhat difficult to describe the perfect image. Firstly the colors seem very natural even though (I use to use Velvia mostly before my digital experience) Velvia can be a little punchy. There is no hint of that here. There are the lovely unsaturated colors - the pinks and the blues. Would you say the the green is a bit subdued or was it that way - of course - based on memory? As a 2nd image, did you consider doing another shot in the portrait mode but using those flowers and rocks (right side) as a lead-in? I think I have run out of superlatives for this image. Well done. hopsage 0 Posted August 29, 2009 Thank you, Tony. I think the greens are probably pretty close to the original scene (though this was shot 7 years ago, so I could be wrong). Regarding a portrait including the foreground rocks and heather, I think I tried a slide of this, but the color in the sky was gone by then. For a sense of how fast this light changed, this shot—http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=6404634— was the slide taken just before this one. I got very lucky. Link to comment
