well i did it the best ever all around simple way

went for a smoke outside at the evening holding my SLR under a coat

and there they were sworming in circles around the warm house waiting for some food to be left unattended

for a couple of weeks before i did played and stroked and combed and brought 'em tasties

and as a real photographer i'd just flashed 'em down that time

Great image - I like the way we as viewers have to keep shifting our focus from one eye to the other to comprehend the shot - sort of a visual pun for the eyes about eyes that seems to force the viewer to engage the animals. It really makes for a dynamic image - very rare indeed and very effective!
