Pregnancy...

The technical attributes speak for themselves. Like many others I find the positioning of the models the most intriguing. At first I notice there is only one "visibly" pregnant woman and so I must conclude the other women are not pregnant. I initially pondered the possibility you were showing women in different stages of pregnancy, but I don't believe this to be the case at all. Then there is "why is the pregnant woman portrayed either superior or hierarchical to the other women positioned beneath her?". To me this is emphasized by the pyramid references. When I look at the expressions of the other women I arrive at one conclusion: they all envy the woman who has been "blessed" with the seed to give birth. Given that child birth is perceived by many woman to be the most rewarding and self-fulfilling experience of a woman's "womanhood", to me the remaining women are left to ponder when, if ever, they will receive the same "blessing".
