Oh. Now I understand. You are the master! Was this also done with liquid emulsion on art paper?

This is beautiful. Her expression is great - it makes the photo (though the lighting and color are also quite well done). Excellent work.

I'm so glad to see your wonderful work here Emil... This portrait is the most amazing portrait I've seen for a long time... The light is awesome, but not only that... Her expression is simply astonishing... She's got 2 jewels where we would expect only 2 eyes...:-) The hand supporting the chin, at first, doesn't seem very aesthetical, but it ads so much strength to the pose... Brilliant. I hope we will see you here more often now... Regards.

This has to be one of the best portraits I've seen. Hate to be a broken record, but the lighting is just fantastic as is the pose. Her extended right hand perfectly balances the slight off-centered-ness of her face. Equally impressive is this woman's ability to remain so completely still and un-blinking for more than 30 seconds--I can't find a blur anywhere.

Are these shots toned with coffee? If so how is it done, and on what kind of paper? This is why photo.net still has value. J.

Would you consider writing an article on the techniques used both in the making of this photo and in any post-production. You should sense by both the comments and the ratings that there are photographers out in photo.net that would really be interested. Regards...

Emil,

Your work is simply fantastic - you have an amazing talent. Do you sell prints? Plan to publish a book?

Why is there a very dark line on the edge of what is her right arm? Could this be from her moving between when you painted the background and her, or did simply no light reach that area? Is it true that she would only have to remain absolutely still while you painted her for the image to be sharp, not for the entire exposure?

Keep up the beautiful work!

Very amazing work.

I only see one light source in her eyes (I mean light reflection). My question is, did you cover her face while paining her arms etc.?

Any technical info will be appreciated.

Ever since I first saw this at PSig I have remained mesmerised. This is one of my all time favorite. But then, so are all of your photos..

Her expression and pose make it a perfect portrait and, in comparison with the rest of your "painting" folders, the image overcomes the technique you used to take it. this is not a criticism, of course, but - I think - most of us would have rated it so high even ignoring the dancing lightbulb technique.

congratulations, I expect this to become one of the next photos of the week.

Emil, congratulations your work truely is exceptional. I'm deeply impressed with your images and keep on coming back to look at them you have clarified to me that there is a long way ahead but if any photographer achieves what you have achived with your images, creating a sense of ovewhelming marvel in so many others he really is a great artist. Rendering what I feel about many of your photos especially from the "Painting With Light" and "Kill Your Darlings" Portfolios with words appears to be impossible...

Regards

Chris

It's in english, and yes: it needs to be corrected grammatically...
