This is one of my favorite ram shots even though he is not very large

in the frame. I love the graphical nature of it and the composition.

I also have a broad range of closer shots of this guy and another ram

that posed for me that day. I started out quite a ways off with the

600mm and worked my way closer taking shots as I went just in case he

ran off. That way I would at least end up with something. I was

pleased with the results.

Cory,

I think the featureless blue sky detracts from the composition. Given that you can't see much detail in the ram, I think the scene would work better as a landscape, with the ram being the punctuation mark that adds scale and context. Looking at it as a landscape I'd like to see more of the mountain, and less sky.

Very nice photo. I disagree with Bob's comment though; I think the very flat blue sky and the contrast between it and the mountain give this photo an almost surreal feeling - especially with the ram looking straight into the frame.
