MichaelChang 12 Posted August 3, 2002 I had originally rated this 8/8. But after coming back for a second (longer) view, I thought, this photo shot any other way would have been just a picture of a bunch of shopping carts. This is so well done, hence my revised rating of 9/9. Link to comment
root 0 Posted August 3, 2002 from an earlier session. . . . 50mm, modified step ladder. Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted August 4, 2002 Went shopping today and saw the line of carts; didn't look nearly as nice as this picture. The posted one is much preferred, to my eye. Link to comment

root 0 Posted November 12, 2002 ah, but sometimes the world is tidy . . . if we just learn to blot out all that's messy :-) . . . . . . This was photographed exactly as found. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted December 15, 2002 Don't know how you found this Carl. Each time I take a supermarket trolley there seems to be junk left over from the previous driver - shopping lists, the odd lettuce leaf, an infant's dummy, on and on. It's not the first time I've seen this sort of image, but I like it all the same. (Might think of : cropping from bottom, closer to wheels; and brightening up the steel.) Link to comment
root 0 Posted December 15, 2002 Straps and araangement were found, may have removed a scrap of paper. honestly don't remember. have no aversion to cleaning up a bit. yes, could be brighter. something I've changed during the last few months as an overall tendency. Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted December 27, 2002 In the time that I have taken to get around to comment on this one, it has become an 'oldie, but a goodie'! Am particularly impressed with the background... Normally, we would expect to see some part of a supermarket, be it in-, or outside. Seen this before, but haven't bothered to comment on it. Why? Because there are so many others at PN to get around. As you pointed out yourself, many go without any comments, or even rantings (deliberate typo)... I think that in that regard, through the quality of your work and active participation, you attract your fair share. Nice work! Oh, and why this one...now? Well, the pennants made me feel the presence of a shopping complex and I see that this one is also from Gaithersburg. :) Link to comment
dennisdixson 0 Posted December 31, 2002 I keep expecting someone to shout, "Cha Cha Cha."This looks like it would be hard to pull off anywhere but in a studio. It's also a pretty good illustration of how carts mate in the wilds. ;-) In other words, lots of potential uses and interpretations. One of my many favorites from your folders. Link to comment
june_roldan 0 Posted August 31, 2003 The first image that hit me after viewing this, was of a chorus line, dressed in red, who at any moment would kick up their little wheels in perfect formation. I like this a LOT! Link to comment
bluebanana763 0 Posted March 19, 2004 i liek this abstractness, gives a sens of repetetiveness, and uniformity. then it goes and breaks that thought with a sense of distinction and individuality with the red strap hanging dow, kidna liek that cart is saying "im not gonna be like a ll the rest of the cart, I AM MY OWN CART!!!" ~good job Link to comment
jh de beer 0 Posted November 20, 2006 Please bear with me, and for my own sanity - did you alter the background in post processing to achieve the total black from the top of the carts? I noticed that you didn't checked the unmanipulated box as usual, but sometimes we just forget. If you did not - please excuse me, I need to go and chew on my wrists for a few minutes. Best regards, as always. JH Link to comment
root 0 Posted November 21, 2006 The unmanipulated chack box feature was added to the gallery after this image was posted. The background is a parking garage and went black when the shiny carts were rendered medium gray. Frankly, if I was to post this again, I would brighten it up considerably. Link to comment
jh de beer 0 Posted November 22, 2006 Thank you for the insightful feedback, and in that case, congratulations on an extrodinary capture of an ordinary subject matter. JH Link to comment
