danbliss 0 Posted December 16, 2007 I am interested in your comments. This a warmer, slightly more dramatic version of the image. It is hard to see the trees if you don't look at the larger version. Thank you for your time. Dan Link to comment
billydodson 0 Posted December 16, 2007 This is a phenomenal image, beautifully composed and processed. Thanks for sharing it. BD Link to comment
jwhite3.0 0 Posted December 16, 2007 Way to go Dan! Works great in B&W. My only suggestion for the future is to crop it or re-size it so that the larger version fits vertically on most screens. And if you crop out the top you almost get an unintentional fish-eye look. Link to comment
jgalyon 0 Posted December 16, 2007 this is magical imagery...! i like the original, but have to say that the cropped version, minus the "light" portion of sky that is omitted ...gives a bit more of an ominus feel with the dark clouds occupying the top of the photo. congrats on this one! danbliss 0 Posted December 16, 2007 BD, John, John, Mary, and Eduardo, thank very much for your comments. I really appreciate them. John, thank you for your cropping suggestion. I think it is stronger. I appreciate your effort. Dan Link to comment
virgilmlesnita 0 Posted December 16, 2007 I think that the sky is competing with the line of trees. That's why cropping it improves the image. You could maybe try to entirely replace the sky with a more "uniform" one. Best, Virgil Link to comment

photodonn 0 Posted December 30, 2007 Spectacular lighting. This is awesome. My 2 cents, I like the original. I like the additional layers that the original has, and my eye explores the whole thing in a "good way", rather than in a distracting way. 7/7 Link to comment
hector_lopez2 0 Posted January 7, 2008 In my oppinion, the original non-cropped one is better, the lighter part on the top gives more interest to the picture and, I don't know why, makes it look different. Congratulations for this great, balanced image. Link to comment
danbliss 0 Posted January 7, 2008 Ger, J, Patrick, Donn, Marta and Hector, thank you for your very kind comments. I really appreciate them. Hector, It is funny how you go back and forth on things your head. Now, I think this cropping (the original) is stronger. Thank you for your comment. Dan Link to comment
billkantor 0 Posted February 10, 2008 Hi Dan, It's a fabulous image. I am flipping up and down between the two and think my vote goes to the cropped version. Though the square format also is very appealing. If you like that I might try burning the highlight a bit. either way. It is a really dramatic image and reveals more on closer inspection. Would like to see this one on my wall. Best, Bill Link to comment
ash burton-smith 0 Posted August 24, 2008 Wow Dan. What a brillant image. That sky is amazing! Great composition. Well exposed. I love the spot light effect you have created. Amazing! Link to comment
hurolemrecandan 0 Posted February 6, 2009 I agree to crop. I also agree that this is a stunning photo! Surrealistic! Very well done. Congrats.. Link to comment
llgarcia 1 Posted March 6, 2009 This was very noticeable in your gallery among others because of its very dramatic presentation and composition. The larger view definitely gave more impact seeing the textures of the grass in the foreground. Simple yet so powerful. Thanks again for your comment to one of my photos. Regards! mario2 0 Posted October 30, 2009 Magic!,overall I love the edition and the frame, the viewpoint shows us a different way to undestand the photography, good perception sense of course.Regards PD.I don't think that your image needs a crop, simply a opinion... Link to comment
tonyguinn 69 Posted January 28, 2010 For me, the composition of the original is perfect. Each element, earth, tree (life) and sky are represented in scale, with the sky being the most important of the three, as it should be, for without it there would be no trees (no life). Well seen and captured! PS I particularly like the diagonals of the rays. Tony Link to comment
