gp1664880838 0 Posted December 15, 2007 Amazing effect! I love great timing and colours. But I suppose it's impossible to see such a configuration in reality :) Greetings, Grazyna. Link to comment
mathewcook 0 Posted December 15, 2007 Thanks Carlos, thanks Mr. and Mrs. Hachaj for your comments. This photo has only been altered by adjusting the levels in the sky and foreground individually. Aside from that, it is as it was in person. Thanks again. Cheers, -Mathew Cook- Link to comment
vs1 0 Posted December 15, 2007 Good photo especially lower part (sea and beach). Sky should be processed more carefully. Anyway, good impression, just like it. Cheers, VS Link to comment
gp1664880838 0 Posted December 15, 2007 Thanks for your explanation. I have one question: what is the brighter left part of the sky? Was it the sun behind the clouds or something else? Grazyna Link to comment
mathewcook 0 Posted December 15, 2007 Hello again. The glow in the left part of the sky was just natural illumination of the clouds. I've included a photo taken a few frames earlier, strait from the camera, no photoshop. Cheers, -Mathew Cook- Link to comment
gp1664880838 0 Posted December 15, 2007 Well, the second picture - as you have written - unmodified shows a very unusual atmospheric phenomenon caused probably by several layers of clouds blending and reflecting the light. Perhaps some rays were also reflected by the water surface before they reached the cloud. You were very lucky to see (and capture) it. We are interested in all optical phenomena and such a light configuration hardly ever happens. The more you deserve our congratulations for your photos (the first for better artistic effect, the second for the insight on the nature of the event). Link to comment
